FAQ
What are the key features of the KTC 25M5 gaming monitor?
The KTC 25M5 features a 24.5-inch 2560 × 1440 Fast IPS panel, a native 260Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time. Its Mini LED backlight includes 1,152 local-dimming zones with HDR1000 support. A shielding hood and fully adjustable stand complete the setup for gaming and everyday use.
How does the Mini LED backlight improve games and movies?
The 25M5 uses 1,152 independently controlled local-dimming zones to adjust brightness across different areas of the screen. This helps deepen dark scenes while keeping bright details, such as lights and reflections, prominent. It is particularly useful for HDR games and movies containing both bright highlights and dark backgrounds.
Which connection should I use for QHD at 260Hz?
Use DisplayPort 1.4 for 2560 × 1440 at up to the native 260Hz refresh rate. The two HDMI 2.0 inputs support QHD at up to 144Hz. Your graphics card and cable must support the selected display mode. Actual game frame rates depend on your PC hardware and in-game settings.
What brightness and HDR support does the KTC 25M5 offer?
The 25M5 supports HDR1000, with listed brightness of up to 1,000 nits in HDR and 550 nits in SDR. To view HDR, use compatible HDR content and enable HDR on your source device. Actual brightness varies with the scene and display settings.
Is the KTC 25M5 suitable for both competitive and cinematic games?
Yes. Its native 260Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time suit fast-paced shooters and racing games, while QHD resolution and Mini LED local dimming add detail and contrast to cinematic titles. The 24.5-inch screen keeps the setup compact. Achieving high frame rates at QHD requires sufficient graphics performance.
Can I use the KTC 25M5 for photo editing and content creation?
Yes. The Fast IPS panel offers 100% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3, and 97% Adobe RGB coverage, making it useful for photo editing, video projects, and digital content alongside gaming. Its QHD resolution provides more workspace than Full HD. Color-critical work still requires appropriate calibration and color-management settings.
What is the purpose of the shielding hood?
The shielding hood helps reduce ambient light reaching the screen from the sides and limits peripheral distractions. It is useful when gaming near room lighting or when you want a more focused viewing area.
Can I adjust the screen height or use the KTC 25M5 vertically?
Yes. The included stand provides approximately 150mm of height adjustment, -5° to 35° tilt, ±60° swivel, and pivot adjustment up to 90° for portrait viewing. You can position the screen for gaming, reading long documents, coding, or everyday desk work.
